About the Opportunity
A highly regarded Canadian consulting firm with a strong national reputation is seeking a senior benefits consulting professional to join its Toronto practice. This is a firm that works with some of Canada's largest employers on complex group benefits mandates. You will be joining a collaborative workplace where the quality of work takes precedence over billable hour targets and where there are no individual sales quotas.
The RoleYou will manage a portfolio of large employer clients across group benefits, providing strategic advice on plan design, benchmarking, carrier management, cost optimisation, and renewals. You will also play a mentoring role within the team and contribute to business development activity.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and grow relationships with a portfolio of large employer clients
- Advise clients on group benefits plan design, renewals, and market benchmarking
- Lead carrier negotiations and manage insurer relationships on behalf of clients
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and contribute to new business development
- Mentor and support junior consultants within the practice
- Stay current on Canadian benefits legislation, market trends, and emerging issues
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in group benefits consulting or brokerage
- Majority of career spent in a consulting or brokerage environment (not purely in-house)
- Experience working with large employer clients
- Strong client management and relationship‑building skills
- Demonstrated involvement in business development or client growth
- Comfortable managing multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Experience with pensions or broader total rewards is an asset but not required
- French language skills are an advantage but not a requirement
- Based in Toronto or willing to relocate
- No individual sales targets or billable hour pressure
