Communications Technician

Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Communications Technician will work with the Communications team to assist with administrative and technical support. This position provides A/V support during live events where a complex setup is required, such as live streaming, along with social media marketing and website updates.

• Assist Paradise Radio with live‑on‑location technical setup, show production, on‑air board operation, and podcasting.

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Strong computer skills, with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, radio broadcast/DJ software, and audio editing tools.
• Experience using social media platforms for communication or content sharing is an asset.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment, including phone systems, photocopiers, fax machines, and mail equipment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with the public, committee members, Chief and Council, coworkers, and Cowessess Citizens.
• Ability to work effectively in a positive, collaborative team environment, while also following direction and working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.
• Positive, adaptable approach to problem‑solving in both studio and field environments.
• Experience with graphic design is considered an asset.
• Experience working with First Nations communities and knowledge of First Nations values, culture, and traditions are assets.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours.
