About the Role

The YMCA of Saskatoon is seeking a supportive, organized, and hands-on childcare professional to join our team as an On-Floor Supervisor at our Martensville Childcare Centre for a temporary maternity leave coverage position.

Reporting to the Childcare Centre Manager, the On-Floor Supervisor supports the day-to-day operation of the licensed childcare centre by maintaining a strong presence on the program floor, supporting educators, helping maintain required staff-to-child ratios, and ensuring classrooms operate safely and smoothly.

This role provides practical, day-to-day leadership to educators while also supporting licensing, safety, attendance, and classroom documentation requirements. The On-Floor Supervisor works directly within the program environment and provides classroom coverage as needed to support breaks, planning time, staffing needs, and operational continuity.

This position is a great opportunity for an experienced Early Childhood Educator who is interested in developing their leadership experience within a licensed childcare environment. Additional leadership opportunities may arise within the YMCA depending on organizational needs and position availability.

Safety & Compliance

  • Support the implementation of health, safety, supervision, and emergency procedures throughout the centre.
  • Monitor required safety documentation and ensure records are current and accessible.

  • Support compliance with Saskatchewan childcare licensing requirements and YMCA policies and procedures.

  • Ensure required regulatory and program records are current, organized, and maintained appropriately.
  • Assist with preparation for licensing visits and inspections.
  • Support educators in completing required classroom and regulatory documentation.
