Job Description What is the Opportunity?

The Director, Cross border Product Portfolio Management is responsible for the overall portfolio of products, product strategy, pricing, and profit & loss management while directing a high‑performing team of product managers. Own the portfolio of products across everyday banking (e.g., deposits, CDs, money market, etc.), credit cards, and FX / Payments for personal and business clients. The role provides senior level product management and oversight of the portfolio of products collaborating with Marketing, Digital, Assisted Channels, Operations, and Technology to ensure appropriate alignment, prioritization and execution against the desired end state and outcomes.

Proactively identifies and prioritizes product innovation opportunities, portfolio monitoring activities, and pricing opportunities to drive growth of the portfolio across assets and liabilities. Serves as primary liaison between RBC Bank and the Personal Banking product and payment teams.

What will you do?
  • Lead RBC Bank Product Portfolio Management:
    Oversee everyday banking (e.g., deposits, CDs, money market, etc.), credit cards, and FX / Payments with full P&L and pricing accountability for strategy, execution, performance, risk management, and forecasting.
  • Design Client-Centric Strategies:
    Deeply understand client pain points, competitive landscapes, and market trends to create differentiated value propositions that drive portfolio growth and satisfaction.
  • Drive

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Partner with Digital, Assisted Channels, Operations, Risk, Digital, Marketing, and Technology teams to align on shared goals and optimize experiences.
  • Execute Strategic Roadmaps:
    Translate vision into actionable plans with defined KPIs, MVPs, A/B testing, segmentation of offers, hypothesis-based validation, and iterative launches, ensuring profitability and risk mitigation.
  • Develop Financial Business Cases:
    Analyze market insights, validate demand, engage external partners, and collaborate with marketing to assess viability and recommend enhancements.
  • Own End-to-End

    Risk Management:

    Manage reputational, regulatory, and strategic risks; lead fraud prevention and mitigation strategies with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Initiatives:
    Act as accountable owner for RBC Bank product portfolio in product initiatives, formulating strategic recommendations and optimizing P&L impact.
  • Monitor Industry & Competitor Trends:
    Benchmark portfolio performance, maintain awareness of economic trends, and manage product impact through regular industry analysis.
What do you need to succeed? Must-have:
  • 8–10 years of experience in product/portfolio management including pricing, P&L, product strategy & innovation
  • Deep expertise owning and driving growth in everyday banking products such as deposits and lending products
  • Strong financial acumen, analyze revenue/cost levers and set balance growth, revenue, and profitability targets.
  • Experience developing business cases and conducting risk assessments to drive prioritization and execution decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and champion innovative product solutions / value proposition to enhance portfolio performance
  • Deep understanding of Canadian banking culture and cross-border client needs.
  • Exceptional influence and communication skills to align stakeholders outside direct control.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
