Responsibilities
Clean rooms to meet Sandman Hotels standards.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products, and implement correct handling procedures.
Respond to guest and staff inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and courteously.
Record and hand over all lost property items to the Supervisor/Manager at shift end.
Report maintenance and safety hazards immediately to reduce risk.
Operate equipment correctly and keep it secure at all times.
Alert the manager to any unusual or suspicious activity or persons.
Report maintenance issues such as burned‑out light bulbs.
Check under beds, drawers and closets for left‑behind items or trash.
Cleans sinks, fixtures and restock amenities including terry, soap, glasses, comment cards, coffee and other consumables.
Clean coffee pots as needed and ensure they are plugged in.
Arrange furniture according to guest use.
Ensure security of rooms and guest privacy.
Perform laundry tasks when necessary: collect, sort, transport laundry at shift start.
Remove and fold laundry from dryers immediately to prevent wrinkling.
Stock linen supply room with clean linens for the next day.
Handle laundry items including bed linens, blankets, duvets/comforters, towels & facecloths, and restaurant table linens; wash, dry, and fold cleaning cloths at day’s end.
Carry out small mending repairs as needed.
Requirements
No education or experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
Ability to follow instructions.
Good communication skills (asset).
WHMIS certification (asset).
Professional appearance and manners.
Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
Skills
