About

The Role
As a Raise Supervisor with Dumas, reporting to the Raise Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising raise development crews and coordinating daily Alimak raise operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the mining plan. You will provide leadership, ensure resources and supplies are available, and act as the primary liaison between the crew, project leadership, and client representatives.

This role requires strong operational knowledge of raise development methods, sound decision making, and a commitment to maintaining safety, productivity, and crew performance in underground mining environments.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise raise crews to cycle raise rounds according to the mining plan and established procedures.

Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to support efficient raise operations.

Monitor production progress and address operational challenges as they arise.

Ensure required supplies, tools, and consumables are available to maintain workflow.

Act as liaison between the crew, Raise Superintendent, and client representatives.

Conduct pre shift meetings, safety briefings, and hazard assessments.

Inspect work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.

Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to crew members to support performance and development.

Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, inspections, and incident reporting.

Respond to and address unsafe conditions or acts immediately.

Participate in workplace inspections and safety initiatives.

All other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Specialty Module U0064 or provincial equivalent.

Ontario Hardrock First Line Supervisory Accreditation.

Minimum 4-5 years of experience operating Alimak raise equipment.

Previous supervisory or leadership experience in raise development or underground mining environments.

Strong knowledge of raise development methods, safety procedures, and underground operations.

Proven leadership skills and strong commitment to safety.

Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with crews, management, and client representatives.
