Job Overview
Branch Manager – responsible for ensuring compliance within the financial services industry, supporting advisors, and optimizing branch operations to deliver exceptional service while building strong, value‑added relationships that help advisors succeed within firm guidelines. The role is based in Saskatoon.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements, including supervising Tier1 registrants, approving KYC updates and new accounts, and applying compliance policies.
- Conduct annual branch site visits, prepare reports, and follow up on deficiencies.
- Review activity blotters (daily, monthly, quarterly), respond to audits, and maintain evidence of supervisory activities.
- Implement timely corrective actions and ensure internal controls are functional.
- Train advisors and support staff on policies and procedures, identify patterns for targeted training, and recommend process improvements.
- Facilitate escalation processes and liaise with iA Securities departments.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with advisors by providing guidance on compliance practices and firm guidelines, assisting with new policy implementation and regulatory requirements, and offering solutions to help advisors work effectively within compliance standards.
- Manage branch operations efficiently by addressing risks and operational issues promptly, facilitating communication between advisors, support staff, and head office, leading regular branch meetings, contributing to policy development, and prioritizing tasks to ensure smooth branch operations.
- Known for the ability to understand, analyze, and interpret regulatory legislation.
- Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership with the capacity to train and support advisors and staff.
- Effective both independently and as part of a team.
- Minimum of 2years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
- Completion of the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH).
- Completion of the Branch Managers Course.
- Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) and Retail Securities Exam, Supervisory Exam.
- Licensed to work in Saskatoon, Canada.
