Lead strategic operations as the Chief Administrative Officer for Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Drive organizational performance while fostering community-first governance and accountability.
The CAO provides essential strategic and administrative leadership, ensuring effective implementation of mandates set by NAN Chiefs-in-Assembly. This senior leadership role requires a deep understanding of First Nation governance, financial management, and policy development. You will cultivate trust and collaboration to align services with the needs of NAN member First Nations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement mandates and resolutions from NAN Chiefs-in-Assembly
• Provide strategic advice and policy recommendations to the Executive Council
• Oversee day-to-day operations across NAN departments
• Lead workforce planning and talent management strategies
• Ensure compliance with funding and reporting requirements
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in relevant fields or equivalent experience
• Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience
• Strong understanding of First Nation governance and priorities
• Proven expertise in financial and risk management
• Fluency in a NAN dialect is an asset
