Job Summary

This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

This position will provide leadership and management direction to the Airport Operations and Air Transportation sections within the office. The position is responsible for ensuring that airport and transportation actions, processes, and procedures comply with applicable rules, regulations, and standards, and services provided are implemented accordingly and meet agency objectives. The position will be part of the office’s management team and may temporarily act as interim Aeronautics Office Director in their absence.

Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel may be required.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Three years of managerial experience OR four years of professional supervisory experience leading and managing transportation operations.

  • Technical: Comprehensive knowledge and experience with aviation rules and regulations, laws, and policies OR transportation related rules, regulations and operations.
  • Policy making and Strategic Direction: Experience developing and implementing policies, rules, standards, and procedures. Experience analyzing emerging trends, legislative changes, and organizational needs to set long-term direction and recommend strategic program shifts.
