Valard Construction is hiring a Project Environmental Manager to oversee environmental operations on powerline construction projects across Canada. This role combines fieldwork with leadership and regulatory compliance.
As the Project Environmental Manager, you will lead a team of environmental professionals ensuring all aspects of project compliance are met. This position requires strong communication skills for engaging with regulatory agencies and Indigenous communities while managing environmental risks. The role also involves conducting audits, managing budgets, and integrating environmental practices into project operations to achieve project goals effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret environmental legislation and guide project teams
• Mentor and manage a multidisciplinary environmental team
• Ensure timely submissions of environmental documents
• Promote environmental best practices on-site
• Manage ongoing environmental risk assessments and incidents
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in a related field
• Minimum 6 years of experience in leadership roles
• Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations
• Proven experience in water and waste management
• Valid driver’s licence and acceptable driving record
