About the Opportunity:
As Service Manager, you will take ownership of the service department-from the people and processes to performance and profitability.

We're looking for an experienced industry leader who knows how to build a strong team, improve technical performance, and deliver consistently excellent service. You'll oversee day-to-day operations, monitor key performance indicators, manage financial results, and help technicians develop their skills through hands-on coaching and technical mentorship.

You don't need to know every system on day one. We'll teach you our processes and technology. What matters most is that you bring solid HVAC/mechanical industry experience, strong leadership ability, and a genuine interest in developing the people around you.

Pay: $100,000-$125,000 Base Salary $150,000 + earning potential with profitability bonuses

Key Responsibilities:

Direct the daily activities and performance of the service department.

Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate service personnel while maintaining a strong team culture.

Provide technical mentorship and hands-on guidance to help technicians expand their knowledge and capabilities.

Manage service projects and maintenance agreements, including developing and pricing maintenance programs for commercial customers.

Prepare HVAC repair and installation quotes and assist field technicians with estimating, troubleshooting, and customer requirements.

Coordinate service and maintenance scheduling to maximize efficiency and ensure work is completed properly and on schedule.

Review service reports and Build Ops documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Partner with leadership on P&L management, profitability, budgeting, and efficient allocation of equipment, tools, and materials.

Monitor department KPIs and take action to improve operational and financial performance.

Develop strong customer relationships and address concerns proactively to maintain long-term accounts.

Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, service quality, and team performance.

Qualifications:

Required:

HVAC/mechanical trades experience. You should have the technical background necessary to quickly earn credibility with and support our technicians.
5+ years of management or leadership experience within a service-oriented operation.

A strong interest in teaching, coaching, and developing technicians, with a demonstrated history of improving team capability.

Experience managing P&L and understanding service-department financial performance.

Proven ability to hire, train, motivate, and hold employees accountable.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including customer-facing experience.

Strong judgment and the ability to make effective decisions in situations involving different levels of complexity and riskfort using Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems. Build Ops experience is an asset.

Familiarity with accounting platforms such as Quick Books.

A technology-friendly, continuous-improvement mindset.

Valid driver's license and a clean, insurable driving record.
