Heavy Equipment Operator; Infrastructure

$34.98 CAD to $59.53 CAD. The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator (Infrastructure) is responsible for storage area maintenance, equipment operation, and materials handling.

• Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure proper functionality.
• Load, unload, and move materials to appropriate storage areas.
• Excavate trenches for buried services.
• Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment.
• Perform regular maintenance (refueling, fluid checks, lubrication) and minor repairs when necessary.
• Report equipment issues, unusual conditions, and spillage immediately to Supervisor.
• Staging materials to be brought down for Underground Operations.
• Maintain good housekeeping at storage areas.
• Snow removal during winter months.
• Other activities as assigned.

• Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as heavy equipment operator (excavator, loader, and forklift).
• Slinging and rigging training.
• Ability to identify difference between normal wear, unusual wear and damage.
• Knowledge of WHMIS, including familiarity with chemical products’ use, disposal and safety data sheet applications.
• Completed secondary school or GED.
• A commitment to health, safety, environment, and community.

• Ability to thrive in an environment of change; must be creative and flexible.

• Rotational shifts, 7x7 schedule (possible day and night shift rotation).

• Role is physically demanding.
• Must be capable of working in adverse conditions and inclement weather.
• Must be capable of lifting/carrying up to 25 kg, walking on rough terrain, standing for prolonged periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, operating equipment.
