Position Overview

Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is growing, and we’re on the lookout for a passionate, detail‑driven Pipefitter for a short‑term project. The Pipefitter’s primary responsibilities include installing various pipe specifications, achieved by reviewing and interpreting blueprints and diagrams to understand requirements.

Requirements
  • Must provide proof of Apprenticeship level or Red Seal Journeyperson Certification
  • Experience in cutting, fitting, and attaching various pipe materials
  • Experience in high‑quality inspections, repairs, and maintenance of pipe systems
  • Knowledge of piping systems relating to bolt‑up of fittings and valves as well as measuring threading and cutting
  • Must have excellent dexterity and precision in movement
  • Any safety‑related training and certificates would be beneficial, but not required
  • Must be physically fit and able to safely lift heavy loads up to 50 pounds
  • Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to use judgment and apply discretion when making decisions
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong time‑management skills
  • Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times

Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test will be required as a condition of employment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Fit various types of pipes
  • Use pipe fitting tools for cutting and attaching pipe to different materials
  • Read designs, diagrams, or blueprints and identify exactly what type of pipe is required for the job
  • Test, maintain, and modify pipe systems
What You Bring to the Table
  • Must provide proof of Apprenticeship level or Red Seal Journeyperson Certification
