Overview HVAC Mechanic responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment. Discuss options with clients regarding heating and cooling systems. Identify maintenance risks on equipment. Troubleshoot issues with current systems. Clean, adjust and repair systems and perform warranty services. Conduct performance tests with specialized tools and adjust system settings. Keep daily logs and records of maintenance functions.
Categorize and organize inventory to limit losses to the company. Ensure compliance with appliance standards and Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
Responsibilities Install, maintain and repair HVAC systems and equipment.
Discuss heating and cooling options with clients and recommend appropriate solutions.
Identify maintenance risks and troubleshoot issues with existing systems.
Clean, adjust, repair systems and perform warranty services as needed.
Conduct performance tests using specialized tools and adjust system settings.
Keep accurate logs and records of maintenance activities.
Manage inventory to minimize losses and ensure availability of parts.
Maintain compliance with appliance standards and Health and Safety Act requirements.
Qualifications High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.
Current driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
1+ year experience as an HVAC Mechanic; willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work after hours, on weekends and public holidays with short or no notice.
Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
Compensation and Experience Experience requirement: 1+ year (with a note that 3–5 years is commonly sought for more senior roles).
Salary: $36.92 - $42.00 per hour.
