Reporting to the Assistant Manager � Facility Services, the Maintenance Foreman is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations and maintenance in our facilities. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Supervision of journeyperson carpenters, journeyperson painters and skilled laborers.

  • Completion of daily and weekly work plans in collaboration with direct reports.
  • Execution of work identified through the Work Control Centre (Help Desk).

  • Execution and oversite of minor renovations.

  • Ensuring that scheduled facility maintenance, inspections and preventative maintenance are successfully completed.

  • Budget and schedule development and monitoring.

  • Respond to requests from governing bodies such the fire department.

  • Respond to OH&S inspection reports for the 53 facility sites.

  • Record keeping on maintenance and repairs performed.

  • Required Qualifications:

    As per Board Policy;
    In addition, preference will be extended to applicants who possess the following qualifications:

  • Commitment to ideals and principles of Catholic education
  • Valid Saskatchewan Journeyperson Certificate/Red Seal Endorsed
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in the facility and maintenance field

  • Experience supervising staff in a unionized environment
  • Valid Saskatchewan driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to estimate material requirements and costs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to safe working practices
  • Applicable building codes and regulations along with Health and Safety Regulations

  • Advanced computer proficiency

  • Experience in organizing and managing renovation projects

  • This position will provide an exciting challenge for candidates who possess strong maintenance aptitude, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

    Terms of Employment:
    As per Collective Agreement:

  • 8.0 hours/day
  • To begin a.s.a.p
  • Salary Range: $40.83 - $45.29 per hour
