Diagnose engines and hydraulic systems as a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Compass Minerals’ Unity, Saskatchewan facility. Work Monday through Friday, eight hours daily, or as assigned.
Compass Minerals hires a Heavy Duty Mechanic for its mechanical evaporation plant in Unity. Maintain heavy fleet equipment through inspections, routine trade activities, and repairs. Your work covers drive trains, steering, suspension, brakes, electrical systems, and electronic vehicle management systems. The facility produces water conditioning, bulk, food-grade, and agricultural salt products.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform general maintenance, inspections, and routine trade activities
- Diagnose and repair engines and engine support systems
- Repair hydraulic, hydrostatic, and pneumatic systems
- Repair drive trains, steering, suspension, brakes, and undercarriages
- Maintain electrical systems, controls, structures, and attachments
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic or Agriculture Mechanic certificate
- Valid driver’s license
- Microsoft Office experience, including Excel and Word
- Ability to work at heights, confined spaces, and hot temperatures
- Ability to climb steps, multitask, and communicate effectively
