Job Overview & Responsibilities

The Engineering and Infrastructure (E&I) Operational Facility Systems Leader, located at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, will oversee and direct the Communications & Data Networks, Electromechanical Systems, and Environmental Control Systems Teams to support launch operations (such as Launch and Space Vehicle Processing, Tanking Tests, and Launch) at CCSFS and Vandenberg Space Force Base. This leader is also responsible for maintaining launch critical equipment, leading E&I’s participation in the Launch Certification Review Process, supporting internal and external customer requirements, and ensuring E&I’s systems are mission capable to support operations and launch.

  • Coordination and scheduling of E&I mission support and personnel.
  • Execution of E&I validations, operational checkouts, pre/post-launch requirements, and launch operations.
  • Implementation of Mission Unique capabilities and customer requirements.
  • Reconciliation of E&I’s Test Requirement Documents.
  • Documentation of data findings and completion of corrective action (DRs/DOs/QNOTEs/CAB).
  • Support of E&I’s launch critical mobile equipment systems (PECS, Generators, Ground Vans, etc.).
  • Maintaining, repairing and upgrading launch critical systems (ECS, Comm and Electromechanical).
  • Maintaining, repairing, and upgrading E&I’s Facility Monitoring Systems, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Human Machine. Interfaces (HMI), and Programable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Coordination and scheduling for System Certification Process with Denver and LOPS CE Office.
  • Coordination and scheduling with the other E&I leadership for E&I Mission Engineering assignments and cross training opportunities.
  • Support of mission milestones including LV & SV processing, Tanking Tests, and Launch at both coasts.
Required Education

Bachelor

Required Years Of Experience

Minimum of 8 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited college or university with 8 years of related experience.
  • Experience supporting and coordinating personnel for critical operations.
  • Experience coordinating and directing investigation, troubleshooting, and repair of engineering systems.
  • Experience reviewing and supporting requirements documentation.
  • Excellent communication, writing and oral skills; ability to work with a wide range of team members including customers and subcontractors.
  • Managerial experience, including employee evaluations and personnel management.
  • Experience collaborating with cross functional teams.
  • Applicable skills in an operations environment.
  • Experience building and leading a team, demonstrating leadership aptitude.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace & Defense experience, working with US Government customers (Air/Space Force, NRO, NASA, DCMA, etc.) and working with Commercial Aerospace/rocket industry customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to obtain Single Scope Background Investigation SSBI Military security clearance.
