Emergency Nurse

Job Title

EMERGENCY NURSE 2.

The Emergency Nurse 2 provides direct patient care in the assigned nursing unit and is responsible for implementing nursing processes which includes but is not limited to ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, maintaining patient safety and working under moderate supervision. In order to deliver efficient and effective nursing care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

• Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving the assigned unit's nursing practices
• Participate in the development of protocols and processes to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency

• Support the empowerment of nurses through the enculturation of the JHAH nursing Professional Practice Model

• Provide various nursing care services as they are assigned and including patient management
• Assist in routine clinical tasks and ensure patient safety throughout the process
• Collaborate with physicians and clinicians to support smooth operations within the unit
• Monitor patient progress and report concerns to senior staff
• Achieve and/or maintain the mandated set of activities for level 2 which is a minimum total of 15 points in at least three categories within each 12‑month cycle as outlined in the Clinical Advancement Program
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care from admission through discharge specific to the patient's age
• Provide nursing care and patient family education consistent with the plan of care and needs of the patients with respect for the patient's privacy, dignity, personal preference and culture demonstrating acceptance, caring and empathy utilizing appropriate resources when applicable
• Precept new hires and trainees during the probation training period and participate in making recommendations regarding progress and training needs
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergency and lifesaving situations by utilizing clinical skills, critical thinking and evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Perform a wide range of nursing procedures in the assigned Emergency facilities with attention to accuracy, patient safety and comfort while maintaining a safe, clean and organized environment for the patient, family, visitors and staff

International Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN); or actively pursuing BSN with formal academic transcript submission.

• Current licensure as a professional registered nurse
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Minimum 2 years of Nursing Experience including 1 year in Emergency Care or related field.
