Belmonte Upper Elementary School Special Education Teacher
Starting Date: Aug 31, 2026
Job DescriptionA creative and collaborative special education teacher with a strong working knowledge of special education regulations and required documentation to work with students with learning disabilities. Applicants must have current State of Massachusetts certification in special education and possess strong interpersonal skills and be willing to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and special education programs.
- Write evaluations, reports, and progress notes.
- Manage classroom environment effectively.
- Implement a classroom‑wide positive behavior and intervention support system.
- Collaborate with the Building Principal and/or PPS Director on assigned responsibilities.
- 2–3 years teaching experience.
- Special Education Licensure.
- Experience with IEP writing, evaluation and report writing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Current State of Massachusetts certification in special education.
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $57,291 to $68,057 per year
