Job DescriptionSupport multilingual learners in developing English language proficiency while strengthening academic skills across content areas.
This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping multilingual learners build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and achieve success in school. Tutors work closely with experienced teachers and EL staff.
Statement of Duties:
- Plan engaging lessons and learning activities for individuals or small groups.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and EL staff to support student learning goals.
- Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs and language proficiency levels.
- Support elementary students with homework completion and foundational literacy and language skills.
- Support middle and high school students with assignments while reinforcing academic vocabulary and content concepts.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and document student progress.
- $34.42/hour - 1 Year position
- Up to 19.5 hours per week
- Up to 2 paid hours of lesson preparation per week

Job RequirementsQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting required.
Experience teaching ESL and/or foundational literacy preferred.
Teaching and/or administration License in Massachusetts preferred, but not required.
Spanish or Portuguese communicative skills preferred, but not required.
