A leading power generation facility is seeking an Assistant Plant Operator to support the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of boilers, turbines, and auxiliary plant equipment. Working alongside Plant Operators and Shift Supervisors, this role is responsible for monitoring plant equipment, conducting inspections, performing water treatment activities, maintaining operating logs, and making operational adjustments to ensure reliable plant performance.

* Assist Plant Operators with the daily operation and maintenance of boilers, turbines, and auxiliary plant equipment
* Monitor equipment performance and investigate abnormal operating conditions
* Conduct routine inspections of turbines, generators, and other critical plant systems
* Maintain operating logs, equipment records, and plant documentation
* Perform water testing, chemical treatment, and demineralization system operations
* Support operation of emissions control and air pollution control (APC) systems
* Identify operational concerns and communicate findings to Plant Operators and Supervisors
* Assist maintenance personnel with troubleshooting and equipment inspections
* Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
* Complete required training and certification programs
Qualifications:
* Massachusetts 3rd Engineer's License required
* High School Diploma or GED
* Minimum 2 years of power plant operations experience or 3 years of related industrial operations experience
* Knowledge of boiler systems, steam generation, turbines, and auxiliary plant equipment
* Ability to monitor and respond to changing plant operating conditions
* Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work a rotating day/night schedule
* Massachusetts Hoisting License (1D / 2C) preferred
