Position: Rn, Registered Nurse - Icu (Night Shift) - Relocation Required

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

Essential Functions
  • Perform appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate). Seek and evaluate information acquired from other members of interdisciplinary team: patient, family, physician, non-nursing disciplines, support staff, others.
  • Use assessment information and critical thinking skills to collaboratively develop individualized plan of care. Involve the patient, family, and health care team in this process.
  • Direct the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration. Provide or delegate care consistent with plan of care, guidelines of care and professional licensure provisions. Demonstrate the ability to set priorities and coordinate patient care.
  • Evaluate patient response to interventions. Review achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, patient and family satisfaction. Revise plan of care as indicated and reassess changes as appropriate.
  • Promote the nursing profession and participate in development of others. Integrate legal and ethical standards into practice, comply with regulatory standards, practice within scope of licensure, provide accurate & timely documentation, and understand legal implications of care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • RNs with less than 12 months experience must obtain Bachelor of Science in Nursing within 4 years.
  • BLS certification for healthcare providers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
Additional Information
  • 1 Year Acute RN Experience Required.
  • Critical Care or Emergency experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors.
  • Frequent interactions requiring verbal communication and auditory comprehension.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment with precision.
  • Expected to lift and transfer patients, bend, carry supplies, including items weighing up to heavy.
  • Assist with transporting patients and distributing supplies; may navigate crowded rooms.
  • May be required to stand for an extended period.
  • For roles requiring driving: expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs.
