Buyer, Engineering

Ichor Systems is seeking a Buyer to support our growing Precision Machining Division in Sauk Rapids, MN. This role is critical to maintaining supply continuity
, supporting new product introductions (NPI), and managing supplier performance across both semiconductor and Aerospace & Defense (A&D) programs.

You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Operations to ensure materials are delivered on time, risks are mitigated, and production ramps stay on track. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment (AS9100).

• Manage supplier quoting, sourcing, and purchasing for NPI and prototype builds
• Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers and materials
• Partner with Engineering and Quality to ensure A&D compliance requirements are met
• Document and implement AS9100 and customer-specific purchasing requirements

• Monitor supplier performance (delivery, quality, responsiveness) and drive accountability
• Communicate forecasts and align production requirements with suppliers
• Resolve shortages, delays, and quality issues to protect production schedules
• Optimize purchasing activity to balance cost and supply continuity

• Proactively identify supply risks, capacity constraints, and material shortages
• Lead recovery plans with suppliers and internal teams
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for supply disruptions
• Escalate issues effectively to protect customer commitments

• 3–8+ years of procurement or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in precision machining, semiconductor, or Aerospace & Defense preferred
• Exposure to AS9100 or regulated environments is a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred

• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar)
• Familiarity with PLM tools (Agile or similar) is a plus

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high PO volume
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to identify and mitigate supply risk
• Proactive, self-driven, and results-oriented
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
• Ability to collaborate with global teams and suppliers

This role is 100% on-site in Sauk Rapids, MN to support close collaboration with engineering, operations, and quality teams, and to meet AS9100 and A&D program requirements.

This position is located in an ITAR-compliant facility
