Production Operator II
Production Operator II is responsible for various production tasks in the manufacture of various metal products in accordance with product specifications.
Location:
Onsite in Sauk Rapids, MN Salary Range: $21.46 – $25.25 per hour (Non-Exempt) Shift Schedule :
Friday-Sunday, 5AM-5PM Shift Differential : +$2.50/hour
As a Production Operator II you will:
- Operate various standard and single purpose machines or hand and power tools to remove undesirable material
- Perform visual and dimensional checking using various gauges and instruments
- Report defects and machine or tool malfunctions
- Perform clean-up, grinding, drilling, blast booth, straightening, cutting, galvanizing process preparation and general production support tasks
- Performs Hot Stick galvanize repair and fixes dents using Porta Power as needed
- Use hoist or other material handling equipment to transport materials and product into and out of the work area as required
- Examine finished products for defects
- Accurately label all parts for routing to next operation
- Acts as area expert for monitoring the production board and internal paperwork to perform the tasks in the designated sequence
- Achieves and maintains crane certification based on area needs to operate as needed
- Bundles poles
- Participate and support Continuous Improvement initiatives and maintain 5S guidelines
- Communicate relevant information and concerns positively and effectively to others in timely manner
- May train employees
- Cross-functionally trained
- Ensure use of safe work procedures and wear all required PPE
- Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
- Follow company policies in relation to safety, cleanliness, attendance etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Role qualifications as a Production Operator II:
- Experience with mechanical machines or devices, preferring electrical and/or mechanical assembly
- High attention to detail
- Skill of effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills
- Skill to operate various precision measuring tools and hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, operating instructions, procedures and prints
- Ability to perform basic shop math functions
- Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork
- Ability to electronically record production information
- Ability to work with others as part of a high-performance team
- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities
- Able to work under limited supervision
- May be required to keep and maintain crane certification
- Basic knowledge in interpreting prints and drawings
Physical Demands:
This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual can lift a minimum of 50lbs. And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery. The employee may need to perform work with the use of ladders.
