ROLE

OVERVIEW:

Our season kicks off in April and runs through November, with the possibility of extending into December. As a seasonal team member, you'll enjoy winters off to travel, hunt, fish, or pursue the activities you love

This position is responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer truck to deliver equipment to designated location.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)
  • Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  • Accurately complete daily vehicle inspection forms.
  • Perform daily housekeeping on truck.
  • Safely operate and maintain truck.
  • Properly load, secure & transport plant/road equipment to and from designated location.
  • Recognize chain ratings, proper securements.
  • Accurately complete load tickets where applicable.
  • Communicate or plan routing with Dispatch or State system.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Will load and unload material for plant when needed.

    Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
  • Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
  • A CDL Class A (tractor-trailer) license.
  • Minimum of 1 year post CDL driving experience. Can be post high school, on the job, military, institutional or vocational environment.
  • Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.
