DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Hockey Business Operations and Financial Stewardship

  • Serve as the co-administrator and steward of the LHLAF, ensuring responsible, transparent, and strategic deployment of donor resources.
  • Assist in hockey-related budget execution, tracking expenditures, forecasting needs, and ensuring alignment with approved priorities and donor intent.
  • Develop and implement fiscal controls, reporting processes, and accountability structures consistent with best practices in NCAA hockey operations and University guidelines.
  • Manage hockey-related vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements to ensure cost efficiency and high-quality outcomes.
  • Strategic Planning and Operational Efficiency
  • Lead long-term hockey business planning, including multi-year financial modeling, resource allocation strategies, and operational improvements.
  • Identify and implement operational efficiencies that reduce administrative burden on coaching and administrative staff.
  • Support strategic initiatives that enhance program sustainability, competitive positioning, and revenue diversification.
  • NIL, Revenue Generation and External Partnerships
  • Coordinate hockey-related NIL and revenue-generating initiatives in collaboration with institutional leadership, compliance, and external partners.
  • Support the identification, evaluation, and execution of new revenue opportunities consistent with NCAA regulations and University values.
  • Assist in aligning NIL opportunities with donor engagement, alumni relations, and brand strategy.
  • Donor Stewardship and Reporting
  • Assist in donor reporting by providing accurate financial summaries, impact narratives, and outcome-based updates tied to donor intent.
  • Support University Advancement and Athletics leadership in donor engagement, stewardship efforts, and major gift strategy related to hockey.
  • Ensure donors receive clear, timely, and transparent communication regarding the impact of their investments.
  • Collaboration and Leadership Support
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Hockey Coaches, Athletics Administration, Development, and University stakeholders.
  • Provide operational and administrative support by assuming daily, weekly, and monthly business functions in alignment with University Business Office staff, policy and expectations.
  • Contribute to a culture of professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within LSSU Athletics.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned or directed to promote, further, and ensure the effective and efficient operation of LSSU.
