Job Skills / RequirementsNo prior experience is required.
Military veterans and people with security, firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.
Shift Opening(s)- Thursday (1pm to 8pm)
- Friday (8:30am to 8pm)
$22.19/hour
About the JobAs a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties. Your duties will vary depending on the specific contract, offering a diverse and challenging work environment.
- Customer Service: assist client staff, visitors, and coworkers maintaining a positive professional demeanor.
- Observe and Report: stay alert for suspicious activities and incidents.
- Security Presence: maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in and around building lobbies, reception areas, control centers, etc.
- Patrol: conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas as required.
- Access Control: ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, check employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures.
- Safety: enforce policies and report safety concerns.
- Emergency Response: be ready to assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED and communicating with emergency personnel.
- Security Liaison: maintain professional communication with client staff, respond to requests, and update site supervisor or operations manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years old and be a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder to perform armed security work (this position is not armed).
- Must pass a mandatory drug screening at hire and periodically thereafter (including mandatory marijuana screening).
- Must not have been convicted of any felonies.
- Must not have been convicted of misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol‑related offenses.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, including up and down stairs, for 8–12 hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs (70 lbs for armed work).
Note:
this job does not require armed work. - Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (Child, Infant, and Adult) or willing to become certified and be physically capable of administering lifesaving care when needed.
- Must be able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (with glasses or contact lenses if necessary).
- Must be able to hear conversations in loud environments either in person or via radio.
- Must be able to use a smart mobile phone or computer for email and online training.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
- Must be professional and possess excellent customer service skills.
- Must have personal integrity and a positive attitude.
- Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.
