Overview
What this job involves - Operates, inspects, and maintains HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment and systems in assigned facilities to ensure efficient operation and extended life. Focus on energy efficiency, safety, and minimizing downtime by anticipating repairs. Maintains records of operating experiences and performs inspections and repairs to interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting.
Demonstrates technical expertise in HVAC and refrigeration and is multi-skilled in electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, and related equipment to complete daily and weekly work assignments.
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems and components.
- Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, interior/exterior building repair, grounds, and production equipment for assigned buildings.
- Study and become familiar with equipment and the methods required to use them properly in everyday activities.
- Conduct facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.
- Submit P-card receipts daily.
- Update work order status in real time.
- Utilize CMMS systems (e.g., Corrigo) for all work performed.
- Possess and maintain a valid state driver s license.
- Be available for call-in work and perform other duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment).
- Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering with strong HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance; knowledge of overall system design and applications.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial refrigeration and/or supermarket refrigeration.
- Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
- Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC.
