The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and completing timely repairs on equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, hands‑on experience with tools, and the ability to support operators by ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate and safely use mechanical, power, and hydraulic tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on equipment. Remove, replace, and install mechanical components and parts as required.
- Assist operators with quick repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Monitor and maintain fuel levels upon operator request.
- Perform lubrication, battery testing, and replacement to keep equipment in optimal condition.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to extend equipment service life.
- Complete assigned maintenance duties and support other mechanical tasks as needed.
- Adhere to safety standards and company policies at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of and skills in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment repair, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of and skills in using hand tools, including screwdrivers, socket wrenches, torque wrenches, pry bars, and specialized mechanical tools.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain mechanical, power, and hydraulic tools.
- Ability to follow safety procedures, identify hazards, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Strong ability to collaborate with operators and coworkers, providing support for quick repairs and ensuring equipment reliability.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Must be 18 years of age or older with High School or GED equivalent. Technical training in trade/craft/industry certification, industrial technology, or a related field preferred.
