As our business continues to grow, we’re seeking skilled, safety-conscious, and motivated Millwright to join our team. If you're passionate about your trade and ready for rewarding, hands-on work both in our shop and on remote job sites, we want to hear from you. Based from our shop in Bruce Mines, Ontario, your work will be performed in shop and in remote locations as needed.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment used in mining operations (e.g., crushers, conveyors, pumps, hoists, and ventilation systems).
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot malfunctions, and perform corrective repairs in a safe and timely manner.
- Fabricate, assemble, and align machinery parts using precision tools, welding, and machining equipment as required.
- Operate lifting devices (cranes, hoists, rigging) to move heavy equipment and components safely.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to execute repairs and installations.
- Work collaboratively with electricians, welders, operators, and other trades to complete maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and work performed in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to mine safety standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in on-call or shift rotations as required.
- Education & Certification
- Valid Red Seal Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) certification (would consider 3rd year Apprentices)
- Additional training in welding, hydraulics, or rigging is considered an asset.
- Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of millwright experience in heavy industry; mining or mineral processing experience preferred.
- Proven track record in equipment installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Experience with conveyors, crushers, pumps, gearboxes, and other mining-related equipment.
- Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools, machining equipment, and welding processes.
- Safety & Compliance
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with mine safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and confined space protocols.
- Ability to work in physically demanding and hazardous environments (underground or surface mine settings).
- Other Requirements
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-trade teams and operators.
- Willingness to work shift schedules, overtime, and respond to emergency breakdowns when required.
- A safety-first mindset and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
