Job Description The Position

HVAC Technician will perform a combination of residential and light commercial HVAC installation, service, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Depending On Licensing And Experience, Responsibilities May Include
  • Furnace installation and replacement
  • Central air-conditioning installation and replacement
  • Heat pump installation and commissioning
  • Dual-fuel system installation and setup
  • Ductless heat pump and air-conditioning installation
  • HVAC service, diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Refrigeration system evacuation and charging
  • Electrical and control troubleshooting
  • Thermostat and smart control installation
  • Air handler and indoor coil installation
  • HRV installation and service
  • Indoor air quality equipment installation
  • Ductwork and sheet metal modifications
  • Equipment start-up and commissioning
  • Completing digital job documentation
  • Recording equipment information, service notes and jobsite photos
  • Explaining equipment operation and maintenance to customers
  • Maintaining clean, organized and professional jobsites

The position includes travel throughout our service area, with Blind River serving as our primary base of operations. We serve residential and light commercial customers throughout the North Shore and surrounding communities, including Blind River, Elliot Lake, Thessalon, Massey, Spanish, Iron Bridge, Espanola and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

We're interested in candidates with experience in the HVAC trade and encourage applicants with different combinations of licences, certifications and field experience to apply.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ontario 313D Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic licence or 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic licence
  • G2 or G1 Gas Technician certificate
  • ODP certification
  • Residential HVAC installation and service experience
  • Experience with central air conditioners and heat pumps
  • Experience troubleshooting HVAC electrical and control systems
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence
Additional Assets
  • Experience with cold-climate heat pumps and dual-fuel systems
  • Ductless heat pump experience
  • Gas furnace installation and service experience
  • Water-heating or tankless experience
  • Sheet metal and ductwork experience
  • HRV and indoor air quality experience
  • Manufacturer training or certifications
  • WHMIS and other relevant safety training
  • Familiarity with Jobber or similar field-service/CRM software
  • Comfortable using mobile technology for scheduling, job documentation, photos, service notes and customer information
