Durable Restoration – Preserving History. Building Legacy.
At Durable Restoration, we don’t just work on buildings — we preserve history.
Our mission is to restore and protect some of the most significant historic structures in the country, including churches, government buildings, universities, museums, and landmark private residences. These buildings define communities. They hold stories. And our clients trust us to safeguard their character and extend their lifespan for generations to come.
If you are passionate about construction, thrive on solving complex challenges, and take pride in craftsmanship and integrity, we want to meet you.
Why This Role MattersEvery project we take on is unique. Historic structures require more than standard estimating methods — they demand critical thinking, deep construction knowledge, and a true understanding of how buildings function.
We are seeking a driven, detail‑oriented professional who can evaluate projects, think through construction processes from start to finish, and deliver accurate, profitable, and comprehensive estimates — all while upholding “The Durable Way.”
This is not a desk‑only position. You will visit job sites, climb bell towers, evaluate historic masonry, meet with decision‑makers, and collaborate closely with our field teams to ensure excellence in execution.
What You’ll Do- Meet with prospective clients to evaluate project fit and scope
- Review drawings, specifications, and proposal documents
- Attend pre‑bid meetings and conduct site visits
- Climb ladders (interior and exterior) to access steeples, towers, and elevated areas
- Develop accurate, detailed, and profitable project estimates
- Think critically about construction methods — not just price per square foot
- Collaborate with our construction team throughout project phases
- Ensure projects are executed using proper historical means and methods
- 2+ year construction‑related degree or construction management/estimating experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and specification books
- Deep understanding of construction practices, processes, and sequencing
- Ability to think beyond formulas and apply sound judgment
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel (typically 1–3 days at a time)
- Valid driver’s license (4 points or fewer)
- Ability to pass pre‑employment and random drug screenings
- Ability to pass Federal, NSA, and Department of Defense background checks
- A mindset focused on learning, growth, and excellence
Experience with traditional building techniques and historic water infiltration prevention methods is a strong plus — but we will train the right candidate who is eager to learn.
What We Offer- Competitive pay (negotiable based on experience)
- Paid in‑house and on‑the‑job training
- Paid Safety & OSHA Compliance Training
- Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance after 90 days
- 401(k) eligibility after 90 days
- Performance‑based bonuses
- Advancement based on performance — not tenure
- Paid vacation and holidays
- Paid travel time, hotel accommodations, and per diem
- Company vehicle and cell phone after training completion
The best candidates for this role:
- Take ownership and responsibility
- Have strong critical thinking skills
- Care deeply about quality and craftsmanship
- Value integrity and professionalism
- Want their work to matter
