Sr. Data Scientist

Description

Leidos has a new Sr. Data Scientist position in the National Security Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area. The role involves supporting AI/ML prototype engineering for Corporate Discovery Services mission, collaborating with stakeholders, capturing requirements, developing prototypes, deploying and tuning machine learning models for holistic data integration.

The program focuses on rapid prototyping, new development, and advanced technology research. It aims to deliver mission success through visualizations, analytics, and new data sources. The environment is collaborative and fast‑paced.

• Mission Focus
  :
  Collaborate closely with customers to accelerate evaluation and tuning of machine learning models for a holistic data view.
• Technical Proficiency
  :
  Write and evolve prototype techniques using diverse architectures and methods. Provide database administration, dataflow engineering, data wrangling, and model development.
• Qualifications
  :
  Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field and a minimum of eight years of relevant experience or equivalent. Proficiency in Python (Sci Kit‑learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch), R, GIT, and Jupyter Notebooks. Experience with relational databases and Tensor Flow.
• Security Clearance Requirement
  :
  Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Desirable Skills
  :
  Proficiency in augmenting, providing context, or fine‑tuning large language models for generative tasks using approaches such as retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and model context protocol (MCP).
