Purpose and Scope

This position will be a developmental opportunity for future Field Superintendents, providing the necessary training and experience to fill a Field Superintendent role through mentoring and practical experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist Field Superintendent with daily activities including crew scheduling, ordering equipment, field planning (SAP plans, rigging plans, etc.)
  • Inspect project site prior to delivery/scheduling of crews to ensure site readiness
  • Assist Field Superintendent and Project Manager in managing safe execution of job completion within 10 & Out goals
  • Attend project site meetings as necessary
  • Attend weekly scheduling meetings
  • Provide feedback to Field Superintendent and Project Manager on current status of project and completion date
  • Supervise field crews to ensure safe work environment and execution of project
  • Assist with Superintendent, Project Manager, and Foremen in pre-planning of projects
  • Commitment to safety policies that establish a culture of a safe work environment, customer satisfaction, first-time quality, and efficiency
  • Self-motivated and flexible within work environment
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in the construction industry and field operations

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • The ability to work with a variety of people
  • Must be open minded and have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing as well as outside the organization
  • Works effectively as part of a team as a leader or contributor
  • Well organized and sensitive to deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in the concrete and/or precast industry
  • OSHA 10-hour certification
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel approximately 60% of the time
  • Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer
Work Environment
  • All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
