SummaryTo supervise and support students during lunch periods by monitoring behavior, enforcing safety rules, assisting with conflict resolution, and ensuring a safe, orderly, and positive lunchroom and outdoor environment.
Essential Functions- Supervise and monitor students during lunch periods and related transitions to ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful environment.
- Monitor student behavior and assist students in resolving conflicts in the lunchroom and designated outdoor areas.
- Enforce school rules, expectations, and all safety procedures during lunch and recess periods.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly lunchroom by supporting appropriate student conduct and routines.
- Monitor student movement and time outside to ensure classes return to instructional areas on time.
- Assist students who are injured or ill during lunch or recess and seek additional help as needed.
- Ensure students are appropriately dressed for weather conditions before outdoor activities.
- Report safety concerns, accidents, or unusual situations to the building principal or designated supervisor.
- Support the building principal in establishing and reinforcing appropriate lunchroom and playground expectations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with district policies and procedures.
- Promote positive interactions, teamwork, and respectful communication with students, staff, and administrators.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience working with school‑aged children preferred.

Required Knowledge
- District policies and procedures.
- Confidentiality requirements related to students and families.
- Basic understanding of emergency response and incident reporting protocols.

- Ability to effectively supervise groups of students in structured and unstructured settings.
- Clear and professional communication with supervisors, coworkers, and students.
- Demonstrate reliability and accountability when responding to daily tasks and unexpected circumstances.
Mobility and stamina to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings; ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods; strength to lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds; visual and hearing ability to monitor students and read written materials; mental alertness to supervise students, follow procedures, and respond appropriately to changing situations.
Working EnvironmentWork is performed in multiple settings including classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, and multipurpose rooms.
