We're hiring a Transportation Specialist to join a fast-paced, collaborative logistics team in Savage. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on coordination, loves solving problems, and brings strong communication skills to every task. You'll manage freight movement, interact with customers and vendors, and work cross-functionally to keep operations running smoothly and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Determine and secure the most efficient and cost-effective shipping options for dry and bulk freight
• Handle high-volume customer interactions via phone, email, and in-person
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to support the Fertilizer Program
• Back up the Agronomics Department, assisting with product application and usage details
• Address shipped quantity discrepancies and manage rebilling processes
• Verify sales fees, service charges, and rebates before finalizing distributor payments
• Provide back-up support to the Transportation Supervisor, including document prep and shipment scheduling
• Calculate freight rates and assist with pricing using the Freight Equalization Program
• File and process freight claims for lost or damaged shipments
• Generate transportation-related reports (e.g., claims data, pickup point volumes)

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years of college, trade school, or equivalent experience in logistics, transportation, or distribution
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management and organizational abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for tracking/reporting
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Experience with freight coordination or transportation logistics preferred
