Summary

The Bookkeeper is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations for a growing logistics and transportation company. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains strong internal controls, manages month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive bookkeeping experience, strong knowledge of Quick Books, and a proven track record managing financial activities across multiple sites.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain accurate Profit & Loss (P&L) statements for individual locations and consolidated company operations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
  • Daily bank reconciliation/bank feed categorization.
  • Monthly/yearly journal entries and other financial close responsibilities (accruals, prepaids, depreciation, amortization).
  • Accounting email monitoring (emergency payments, approvals, etc.).
  • Monthly Balance Sheet review.
  • General account monitoring/maintenance.
  • Accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Bookkeeper or similar accounting role.
  • Strong proficiency with Quick Books.
  • Experience preparing P&L statements.
  • Experience managing accounting functions for multiple locations or business units.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

AA or BA in Finance preferred and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.
