Accounting Technician

• Performs a variety of accounting tasks along with administrative and clerical support, technical accounts processing, and financial recording duties.
• Maintains, analyzes, and reconciles projects.
• Creates and maintains financial databases, project spreadsheets, and project files.
• Processes accounts receivables in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensures the proper receipting of fees.
• Performs data entry.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by college level course work in accounting, bookkeeping, computer science, or closely related field, and
• At least two (2) years of fiscal accounting experience, including automated accounting tools; or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Clerical testing will be required during the interview process for selected candidates.

• Knowledge and application of accounting and budgetary principles to the maintenance of standard fiscal and accounting records.
• Proficiency in the use of Excel.
• Oral and written communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Data entry skills, computer literacy, and the ability to quickly learn appropriate customized software applications.
