Job Summary

The Student Assistant will support the Department of Communication Arts as a Wardrobe Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2026. The Wardrobe Assistant assists with the construction and alteration of costumes for Theatre program productions. This role also helps maintain costume stock and provides support during costume fittings.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12‑consecutive month period.

Responsibilities
  • Performs hand and machine sewing, including straight and curved seams, gathering, surging, zipper installation, and application of closures.
  • Constructs garment and alteration
  • Assists with cutting, draping, or patterning experience (may be available to qualified students)
Shift Specifics
  • Up to 10 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • The costume shop is open Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hand and/or machine sewing in garment construction and alteration.
Proposed Salary

$7.25 per hour

This is a non‑exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
