Position: Receiving Specialist (Part Time, 25hrs) Tropical Shell & Gifts Savannah

The Receiving Specialist codes invoices and prepares them for the Finance Department. This position must be computer proficient and a fast, accurate Typist, have a sharp eye for detail, and excellent analytical skills.

Essential Functions
  • Create and processes source documents for financial transactions by compiling, reviewing for accuracy, coding, scanning, and sorting information.
  • Follow department procedures while working with buyers, store managers, and vendors to resolve discrepancies
  • Track pending credits using an Excel spreadsheet
  • Using a keyboard to enter data in specific fields
  • Abide by all policies, procedures, and programs
Required Knowledges, Skills, And Abilities
  • High degrees of self-motivation, and the ability to work independently over long periods of time or as part of a team within the scope of established rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, emails, office machines, managing files/records, and other office procedures and terminology
  • Ability to identify, gather and analyze information, exhibit sound and accurate judgements, and make timely decisions.
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English, including the ability to clearly express thoughts to others and exchange information.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Formal computer training preferred

  • Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing.
