Job DescriptionThe Chatham County Juvenile Court is seeking a dedicated and highly organized professional to join our team as a Judicial Assistant. ExamplesOf Duties
Perform complex and diverse administrative support duties for an assigned Judge.
Maintain a high level of trust and confidentiality as you manage administrative office functions, schedule meetings and appointments for the Judge, facilitate communication, participate in scheduling court proceedings, and notify necessary parties of such.
Prepare, review, and proofread documents, orders, and correspondence.
Organize, maintain, and track incoming and outgoing correspondence and pleadings.
Coordinate judicial hearings or meetings, including by using video conferencing platforms.
Perform general administrative tasks including making copies, data entry, scanning, and maintaining and filing documents.
Ensure efficient clerical procedures, records management, deadline maintenance, and workflow for the Judge.
Use your communication and customer service skills as you interact with judges, other officials, court staff, members of the public and legal community.
May include some after-hours work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsAssociate Degree in Business Administration, Management, or closely related field, and At least four (4) years of executive secretarial, administrative, or office management experience; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. You must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Selected candidates will be required to complete clerical testing during the interview process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or a closely related field. Experience in a legal or court work environment.
Successful candidates will possess these qualifications:
Ability to create written work products that are error-free and professionally formatted. Experienced in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Teams. Accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Ability to perform under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.
In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing.
Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
