The Assistant Superintendent typically reports to a Superintendent, Project Manager or Ops Manager and assists with the planning and daily execution of a construction project. They are responsible for maintaining certain or all aspects of the project schedule, depending on project size and complexity, by managing subcontractor performance.
Position Responsibilities Project Financial Responsibilities- Is aware of the overall project budget for the area(s) of responsibility.
- Fully aware and manages the items that CDCC Self Performs to successful completion within the Budget.
- Performs cost coding to comply with the project budget of items purchased or labor performed.
- Could be called upon to assist Superintendent with the analysis of new work and development of General Conditions
- Performs or assists, as assigned, with all project start up items from the Project Start-up Checklist
- Performs or assists Superintendent in the review and coordination of the Loss Prevention and Quality Control Program
- Assists with or has full responsibility to develop and maintain a project schedule including periodic updates to status the project.
- Shares in overall responsibility for project Safety and Quality Control
- Fully capable of interpreting all contract documents and understanding the scope of work involved.
- Assists project team in the development of RFIs required to perform the work
- May attend and participate in meetings with Architect/Engineer and owner representatives; provides information and assists the project team in the preparation of progress reports/meeting minutes
- Coordinates with others in CDCC to ensure all clarifications, changes, directives, RFIs, etc., are updated on the as-built drawings and are fully coordinated with company supervision and all subcontractor/suppliers
- Assists to make sure there is a plan to Close-out a project and that the field portion is executed.
- Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds expectations
- Addresses all issues with a Can Do, solution-oriented attitude
