Construction Laborer
Position SummaryThe Construction Laborer is responsible for supporting construction operations through physical labor, site preparation, material handling, equipment assistance, and general job site duties. This position assists supervisors, operators, and skilled trades personnel in completing projects safely, efficiently, and according to company standards. Construction Laborers play a vital role in maintaining productivity, safety, and overall job site organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform general labor duties on construction and job sites.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, trenching, and cleanup activities.
- Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist equipment operators, utility crews, pipe crews, and supervisors as directed.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact materials manually or with equipment.
- Install and remove barricades, traffic control devices, and safety signage.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site‑specific requirements.
- Assist with concrete work, utility installation, demolition, and grading activities as needed.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents immediately.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, stretch‑and‑flex programs, and job site briefings.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet project deadlines and production goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous construction or labor experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.

- Outdoor construction and industrial job site environments.
- Exposure to heavy equipment, loud noise, dust, mud, and changing weather conditions.
- Fast‑paced environment with physically demanding responsibilities.
The Construction Laborer is expected to consistently follow all company safety procedures, wear required PPE, attend safety meetings, complete required documentation, and immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries, or incidents.
