Director​/Master Control Operator - Wtoc

Gray Media, headquartered in Atlanta, is the nation's largest owner of local television stations serving 113 markets. The company owns the flagship station in Savannah, WTOC-TV, the #1 station in the region.

WTOC-TV is the dominant #1 station in Savannah, GA, serving 17 counties in Southeast Georgia and three counties in South Carolina.

WTOC is looking for a director with a background in master control. The ideal candidate will self‑motivate, balance tasks in master control, and bring the producer’s vision to life. The position requires a flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Direct live newscasts daily
• Monitor and maintain video and audio in Master Control
• Operate broadcast equipment, including PTZ cameras, audio mixers, and production switchers
• Create clear and accurate reports of on‑air discrepancies
• Code newscasts for Ross automation

• 1 year of experience in directing, master control, production, or related fields
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize complex tasks
• Effective communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Understanding of FCC broadcast regulations
• Newscast directing, master control, or production assistance experience a plus
• Knowledge of Ross Overdrive, Caprica, ENPS, and Crispin automation and playout systems preferred
• Strong communication and people skills
• Proficient with PCs and automation software
• Ability to work under pressure
• Collaborate with other departments to meet daily demands
• Flexibility with scheduling and job assignments
• Willingness to learn new hardware and software
