The Work Study Student will support the Department of Communication Arts as a Lab Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2026. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Please confirm your federal work study eligibility with the Office of Financial Aid or request federal work study eligibility.

Employment is contingent upon funding.

• Assists Multimedia Film and Production and Multimedia Journalism faculty and students with checking out and checking in equipment, such as cameras, lights, extension cords, shades, and sound equipment
• Verifies that all equipment returned by faculty and students is in its original working order
• Answers questions from faculty and students
• Assists with safety issues
• Maintains the cleanliness of equipment

• Up to 15 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability
• Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Other Required Qualifications

• Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Education

• Multimedia Film and Production or Multimedia Journalism major

Preferred Experience

• Customer Service experience
• Experience multitasking and supporting various constituencies
• Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
• Experience with camera, sound, lighting and video equipment

$12.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
