The Work Study Student will support the Department of Communication Arts as a Lab Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2026. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Please confirm your federal work study eligibility with the Office of Financial Aid or request federal work study eligibility.
Employment is contingent upon funding.
Responsibilities- Assists Multimedia Film and Production and Multimedia Journalism faculty and students with checking out and checking in equipment, such as cameras, lights, extension cords, shades, and sound equipment
- Verifies that all equipment returned by faculty and students is in its original working order
- Answers questions from faculty and students
- Assists with safety issues
- Maintains the cleanliness of equipment
- Up to 15 hours per week
- Flexible with schedule of availability
- Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Educational Requirements
- Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Other Required Qualifications
- Must be Federal Work eligible.
Preferred Education
- Multimedia Film and Production or Multimedia Journalism major
Preferred Experience
- Customer Service experience
- Experience multitasking and supporting various constituencies
- Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Experience with camera, sound, lighting and video equipment
$12.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
