A globally recognized leader in art and design education is seeking an exceptional Executive Director of Interior Design to lead the creative vision and execution of interior environments across an expanding portfolio of academic, residential, retail, exhibition, hospitality, and institutional spaces.

What You’ll DoAs Executive Director of Interior Design, you will provide strategic leadership for interior design, architecture, and construction initiatives from concept through completion. Working closely with executive leadership, you will transform ideas into breathtaking environments that reflect the institution's commitment to innovation, artistry, and excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the conceptual development, design, and execution of major interior design and architectural projects.
- Direct and mentor a high-performing team of interior designers and architects while fostering a collaborative, creative culture.
- Develop compelling design concepts, presentations, and visual materials for executive leadership review and approval.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and priorities across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Establish and maintain exceptional design standards across academic buildings, galleries, residences, retail environments, event spaces, exhibitions, and special projects.
- Serve as a key liaison with internal stakeholders, external partners, vendors, and consultants throughout the design process.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends, materials, technologies, and best practices within luxury interior design and architecture.
- Lead quality assurance efforts to ensure every completed project reflects world-class craftsmanship and extraordinary visual impact.
We're seeking an accomplished design executive who combines exceptional creative vision with proven leadership and project management expertise.
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience leading luxury residential, hospitality, commercial, or institutional interior design projects.
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing creative design teams.
- Demonstrated success overseeing complex, high-profile projects from concept through completion.
- Outstanding presentation, communication, and client relationship skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with experience managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, or comparable design platforms.
- Travel: Approximately 10–20%
- Schedule: Full-time with flexibility to support project deadlines, special events, and occasional evenings or weekends as business needs require.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.
