Professor, Themed Entertainment Design

As a themed entertainment design professor, you will prepare students for careers in a multibillion-dollar global industry by leveraging a comprehensive curriculum that explores architecture, new media, film, live theater, and augmented and virtual reality to design attractions from the ground up. You will demonstrate leadership and teach courses of the highest quality through various methods in a positive environment, both in and out of the classroom.

Responsibilities include adherence to all duties and expectations outlined in the SCAD Faculty Handbook, such as coursework preparation, syllabus design and approval, office hours, midterm grade reviews, and more. Among other responsibilities, you will provide students with extra help sessions, extended learning opportunities, and field trips outside of regular class hours.

In this role, you will model professionalism, fulfill all grading and academic documentation requirements, and record attendance. You will assist with all academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts. Occasionally, you may support departmental and university-wide initiatives by attending both in-person and virtual events, such as faculty councils, admission activities, accreditation support, curriculum development, and exhibitions, among others. Professors must fulfill teaching assignments determined by contact hours as specified in the Employment Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Degree in themed entertainment or a related discipline

* Experience in live entertainment and digital experiences

* Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up, AutoCAD, Revit, or Unreal Engine

* Significant production design experience and credit listings on recognizable movies and television shows

Preferred Qualifications:

* Teaching experience at the collegiate level

Travel Required:

* Less than 10%
