The Department of Middle Grades & Secondary Education offers programs in initial and advanced educator preparation. The department seeks educators to support undergraduate Integrated Sciences courses in a flexible, semester‑by‑semester basis.
Job SummaryThe department is accepting applications for a pool of part‑time faculty to teach Undergraduate Integrated Sciences courses (ISCI 2001 Life/Earth Science or ISCI 2002 Physical Science) for the 2024‑2025 academic year. Positions are on an as‑needed, semester‑by‑semester basis.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate courses in ISCI 2001 Life/Earth Science or ISCI 2002 Physical Science.
- Teaching assignments in various modalities (face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online) based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Science (Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Geology for ISCI 2001 or Physics and/or Chemistry for ISCI 2002) or a closely related discipline.
- At least 18 graduate semester hours in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology or Geology (ISCI 2001) or Physics and/or Chemistry (ISCI 2002).
- Minimum of three years teaching experience in P‑12 schools.
- Classroom instruction experience in higher education.
Commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
