PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To provide appropriate learning experiences and educational opportunities for each student assigned to the class.
Reports to:
Principal.
Teacher (pay schedule details).
Requirements- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (advanced degree(s) preferred).
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education P-5.
- Provide instruction at appropriate instructional level, develop content, and build for transfer.
- Assess and encourage student progress: promote engagement, monitor progress, respond to progress, and support students.
- Manage learning environment: use time efficiently, maintain effective physical setting, maintain appropriate student behavior.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders via virtual platforms, using written and oral form.
- Use programs and software applications for instructional and administrative tasks.
- Participate in professional learning to enhance online instruction and obtain virtual teaching endorsement.
- Clearly articulate deadlines, schedules, and procedures to students and parents.
- Follow professional practices consistent with school and district policies.
- Interact professionally with students and parents.
- Be available for conferences per district policies.
- Facilitate home‑school communication.
- Maintain confidentiality of students and records.
- Cooperate with administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents.
- Conduct assigned classes at scheduled times.
- Enforce regulations concerning conduct and discipline.
- Be punctual.
- Provide information, plans, and materials to substitute teachers.
- Maintain accurate records and file reports promptly.
- Attend faculty meetings and other assignments per school policy.
- Comply with conditions in the contract of employment.
- Model correct use of language.
- Demonstrate accurate content knowledge.
- Implement designated curriculum.
- Maintain lesson plans as required.
- Assign reasonable tasks and homework.
- Take precautions to protect records, equipment, and materials.
- Supervise students in out‑of‑class settings.
Annual contract; 190 school days; salary determined by certification level and allowable experience.
Physical and Sensory DemandsClassroom category: prolonged periods of standing or walking, occasional bending, stooping, stretching, lifting, restraining students, reading, listening, writing, speaking; minimal exceptional demands.
Position Type:
Full‑Time | Salary Range: $52,839 to $109,029 per year.
