Job DescriptionClassical Academy Charter School is a Locally Authorized K‑12 Public Charter school operating autonomously from the county school system. SCA is a high‑performing charter school with proven instructional practices that yield high student achievement outcomes. SCA’s academic calendar includes more school breaks than other county schools, and the average student attendance rate is 95.5%.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONTeachers are members of the CEO's instructional team and are responsible for duties related to academic programs and operational practices.
General Responsibilities and Duties- Prepare students to be ready for the next grade.
- Use available technology to enhance student learning experiences.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and extra‑curricular/school related activities.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate conscientious and responsible behavior.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned by the CEO.
- Follow professional practices consistent with school policies when working with students, students' records, parents, and colleagues.
- Facilitate home‑school communication by means such as a communication folder, scheduling conferences, telephoning, and written communications.
- Demonstrate professional teaching practices, including:
- Model correct use of language, oral and written.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date knowledge of content.
- Implement designated curriculum and grade‑level standards.
- Assign instructional tasks and homework to students.
- Take precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Degree from an accredited college or university with teaching certification.
- Certified or eligible to be certified as a Georgia teacher in the related content area.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
